Eva Catherine Partee McMillan was an organizer in the civil rights movement. She co-founded the Dallas Black Women’s United Front (BWUF) with others. She also helped create the BWUF Food Co-Op and People United for Justice for Prisoners (PUJP). Additionally, she co-founded the Anti-Klan Network, the Dallas Anti-Apartheid Coalition, the Anti-Death Penalty Coalition, and other organizations. She also served on other national boards. She was involved in Operation Freedom in Memphis, Tennessee. She was a member of the American women’s delegation to the People’s Republic of China in 1975. “Mama Mac” was known for showing up repeatedly. She did so not just for her son, but also for the benefit of others. In 2019, Pan African Connection recognized her as part of the International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month Recognition program.
