Nancy Sue Wilson was a “jazz singer,” “blues singer,” “pop singer,” and “cabaret singer.”  Some refer to her as “a storyteller.” Others call her “a professor emeritus of body language.” She was also known as “a consummate actress.” Many regarded her as “the ultimate entertainer.” Her colleague and long-time friend Joe Williams called her “the thrush from Columbus.” In 1995, National Public Radio (NPR) wanted an articulate voice with both name value and jazz credibility. They needed someone to host their Jazz Profiles series. Wilson was the obvious choice.  Not only did she know the music, but she knew the artists personally.  In the late 1990s, Nancy teamed up with MCG Jazz. It is a social enterprise supporting the youth education programs of the Manchester Craftsman’s Guild. This is a nonprofit, minority-directed, arts and learning organization located in Pittsburgh, PA.
